Yellow explosion

Today marks the first day of work after a week's break. It started with an explosion. The bottle of yellow acrylic paint actually exploded when I tried squeezing paint out and I had yellow all over me, even in my mouth. Tasted acrylic for the very first time, what an experience to start the week! Haha, I managed to save my pants, but my shirt will have yellow poker dot design from now on.

And boss found out we're always late! Goodness, I felt rather embarrassed when confronted. I wonder who's the snitch! haha but it's my bad, I guess I should really try to cure my lateness from now on. It had been one of my worst habit since pri sch. I remember I used to be caned every year for multiple lateness back then. :p

I love the new episodes of spongebob squarepants on nick, they never fail to put a smile on my face! Mrs Puff, Squidward and Patrick are so funny! They should appear more often!

This was what I tried doing yesterday. I was inspired by some colorful portraits I saw where the artist made use of lotsa unconventional colors to form the portrait. I toned it down after that as it was meant to be a sad piece. I just bought acrylic paint the other day, shall try painting soon! :)

Training shifted to Bedok reservoir officially. The strong current was really scary, especially after this morning's storm and the water was damn dirty, I had rashes after that. I can really appreciate the swimming pool now. Competition is next week, hope we fare better this time!

I watched lotsa animation shorts on aniboom.com. There are several really inspiring ones. It makes me wonder again why i chose visual comm given my love for animation. Well, I hope one day I could do something like that! :)

Bored

No work the entire week, I'm getting bored.

This is what i learnt and tried doing today. :)

I wanted to do a large scale piece but i keep digressing, totally no motivation. I kinda miss the annoying cat.

Stress!

My once chill job has recently become more and more stressful! I have to rack my brain to think of more and more art ideas, especially towards the end of the month when things are due. Urghh, it's never easy as children has different age groups with different levels of capabilities and can't plan stuff too complex or too simple which is often the case. I kinda get tired and digress easily nowadays, getting old. :s

Good things coming my way

Couple of good things that will make me happy for a few more days! I finally got my driving license!! Goodness, it took forever man, finally no more boring driving lessons!!! :D:D:D I was so surprised when the results was out, I thought i would have failed given the many mistakes I've made. Well but thank God for giving me such a lenient tester, he seemed to have closed one eye in some of the mistakes i committed. In the end I got 14 points deducted only, I feel so blessed! And just yesterday, I thought I had bad luck as I stupidly dropped my wallet at the petrol station and missed part of driving lesson trying to look for it. Thankfully, it was found not long after by some kind soul and returned back to me with the money inside gone. I was really relieved then as the important cards and documents are still within. Then at night I slipped and fell. All these kinda seem like bad omen. Haha, I guess my suayness was used up yesterday so today i was lucky! :D

Another happy thing was I won in a design contest I took part in not long ago. I think this is my first winning experience in a long long time for any contests. Still clueless about how am I going to claim the price though, but I'll figure out. :)

This will serve as a great morale boost for me! I'm currently working on a teeshirt design competition for a cancer charity foundation. Next I hope to move on to fine art already. Anyone wanna art jam together? :p

I just watched the inception a few days back which is super nice! The next best movie after toys story 3. The plot is really clever and refreshing, with stunning visuals. Love the dream concept, if only it really happens, I would rather stay in the dreams.

Next, I gotta know my colleagues better. We had a super long 2-hr plus lunch break on Monday. Kinda feel bad cuz couldn't finish the work later and boss have to come n hurry us to work. Haha. But great chitchat session man, shared our views on various topics and it proves that I can still converse with people. Rach was actually born on the same day as me and we entered the studio at around the same time! What a coincidence.

I will be having driving exam next week! Damn scary, it is the 3rd time I'm taking so please please please let me PASS!!! Already spent a fortune on driving lessons, I hope I don't let myself and my dad down again. Recently been spending my free time joining some art and design contests and training for canoe polo. I'm trying to slow down my pace in life, realized that sometimes I'm stressing myself out for nothing. Thanks to Andy for lending me his canoe paddle so I don't have to worry about buying it for a while. I think I should get a WACOM tablet soon, drawing with mouse is so time consuming.

Nowadays, I kinda prefer time alone, doing the things I enjoy. It seems like I'm losing the ability to hold conversations with people and getting more and more anti-social which is not very healthy. As I age, the number of friends I lost touch with is increasing at an alarming rate, even friends I thought would last a lifetime, which is kinda sad. My parents started to pester me about getting a girlfriend, which made me feel damn old! haha

Had some free time and decided to do this ice cream time lapse. My camera has been rotting for a while now, kinda underused. I wanna go photo taking soon! It wasn't really good as there wasn't any good lighting at home and i was on a rush to go for driving lesson so at the end was kinda slip slop. Nonetheless it was fun, and it was 3 ice cream's effort! :D

I ended off my freelance design job not long ago. The process had been fun and I learnt quite a few new things especially with flash and color combinations but towards the end it kinda turned sour. It was really annoying when the payment wasn't as promised, then what for do i put my heart and soul into helping you design! Damn it. I turned down another freelance offer since. I guess I would wanna stay away from the designer job for a while and just chill with my current one! :)

Presenting Bumblebee - the really cute kitty @ my work place which really looks like puss in boots! He loves to attract attention and disturb people painting, a really curious cat but super adorable. That day he was using my hand as a pillow while he sleeps. Oh, and my new work place is great, super chill environment with nice music, tea and fellow art lovers! Painting while @ work, enjoying nice piano pieces, what more can i ask for? :)

Merly and Leo

Had a chance to work with Leo and Merly today, haha. Quite cute right? It is mascot day again. I'm so glad I don't have to be in any of the suits as it's freakin hot! Received several freebies too, I'm loving great deal temp jobs man!

I'm gonna start work @ an art studio next week, rather excited to meet fellow passionate art-lovers. I hope life gets more exciting and fun!
