My new room!

I have my own bedroom now, yay! :) Today, I finally got rid of my bro's bed, all by myself! I feel so accomplished. Hahaha, I can use the screwdriver after all! And tada, here are some pics.
This is my humble bedroom.
And the door I vandalized a few years back, lol.
With the other bed gone, my room now has plenty of space for me to build a home gym! I plan to fix a pull up bar here soon. I can also organize mahjong sessions and drinking games here. :D
And of course, not forgetting my very own art corner!

Last day of Work

Yesterday was officially my last day of work. It was the longest working day too as I've stuff to finish up. I'll certainly miss the cat and the people as well. My boss has been really nice, giving us tasty treats from time to time and overall it had been a great working experience. I learnt quite alot about various types of art and also art from different countries through my research and program planning. The kids are really cute although some maybe annoying and cheeky. haha

Here are some final pictures of Bumblebee! He is so adorable, I just love to pinch his cheeks!
Bumblebee and his newfound friend

He loves to be tickled at his chin. This is my boss.
I'll miss him disturbing me @ work. He likes to use my arm as his pillow too.:)

Some works from one of the classes I facilitate.
One of the things I enjoy most about work is doing samples for the programs I planned. Kids' craft really fun even though they're simple to do. Here is a Japanese fortune cat.
The first and only painting I did @ work. Pop Art- inspired cookie. I was hoping I had more chance to paint, but workload was increasing then. Oh well, I hope I could go back and paint with the people next time:)

I happen to chance upon this you tube video. This guy is incredibly talented, his rendition of pop songs on piano is simply amazing. I can really feel the emotions and sincerity of it. If only he can accept me as his student, I really hope for a piano teacher now. Haha, but fee is another issue though, my parents seemed reluctant to sponsor me now. It's hard practicing myself, I keep playing the same few songs and progress is slow. Another issue is my short fingers, reaching out for notes far apart is tearing my hand apart! hahaha

It's an empty world.

After reading this book, I was inspired and decided to have an art journal of my own to try out new art techniques, explore ideas and to express some thoughts and feelings. My first few pages tended to be more emo, I shall name this series "It's an empty world".

Let Art be My Escape
Tada, this is the cover to my very first Art Journal.
Used uhu glue to create webs on the cover page. Uhu glue(the tube one) really does wonders man, not only can it stick on almost everything, It can be used to create your artwork too. I just learnt about a glue resist technique, shall try it out another time.

Hidden

Forsaken by time
It stood still and watched mercilessly.

One of the first attempt to paint some abstract background using acrylic. Tried out all the splatters and blends.

Delete
Sometimes you just wish there's this magical delete button where you can empty all the unhappiness and lousy stuff. But at other times, why are there little things holding you back?

Where am I, where are you?
After they're deleted, what's next?

The cloud bleeds..
when the tears ran out.

It's an empty world.

Frozen in this fear
Tried new collage techniques for this one. Used different magazine cutouts to create 3d forms.

Goodbye
The dissipating Mermaid

I always thought the little mermaid (not the disney one) is one of saddest tale ever as the mermaid sacrificed everything just to dissolve into bubbles in the end. And i used to think she was really stupid, why didn't she just kill the prince with the knife that her sis had exchanged with the witch. Well, now I kinda understand a little. Love makes people do the stupidest things because it's blind.

Tears- They are nasty things to burst

Indeed. However, sometimes I wish I could just burst it all out. Although it's nasty, but it will at least set the sorrows free for sometime. Still, I think guys shouldn't cry, it's never our privilege unfortunately. This emotion of bursting into tears just came to me one day when I was listening to a Stefanie Sun's song. I decided to paint it out. Tried the straw blowing method to create the tear bursting effects.

Ouch
-People often walk in and out of your life, some will leave footprints so deep, it hurts.

I tried out a new painting technique, sgraffito for the footprints which is to scratch off the paint after it's dried. Not easy, I must say as I've to be wary that the paper might tear.

Caged within
Still there are tears, trapped within, wondering when is their turn to be set free.

Found these fruit and veggie art pieces rather funny and cute!! haha I would love to try some myself, but they rot which is kinda troublesome. Beautiful things never last ehh?

This one below sure looks like Bumblebee! lol

And this fruity stop motion made me smile!! haha so cheery!

Getting old

Tee Shirt Designs I did for a Cancer Foundation Design Contest.

Monday's mural project was cancelled! Damn disappointed :(
I really feel that I've aged quite a bit now after turning an adult, I get very tired easily. At around evening time I'll be almost K-Oed. Having activities after that will bring me blood shot eyes and I would feel so tired that I don't feel like talking or entertaining anyone. Gone are the days when I could stay up late and not sleep for days and hang out like nobody's business. I very much prefer home now. I still miss the young days though, all the energy and youth please come back!! :s

Bloated

Finally got to eat the 50 percent off sakura buffet @ cck. Almost couldn't get in again cuz we were late. Haha and it was damn cheap, 13.90 only. Althought the food was so so, can't expect much for such low price but the variety quite alot. We ate till super bloated, feeling like a preggy now. lol

I heard Hebe's new song and really loved the simplicity of it. She has such beautiful voice which is always so understated in S.H.E. Here is the MV that was also tastefully done.

My boss sent me for a mural project next week. I'm so looking forward!! haha School is starting soon, shall treasure the last 1 week plus of holidays!!:)

Colors

The past week had been quite a packed one and I'm glad that I finally have some private time at home to do my own things today. Grandma's funeral lasted for a week, I hope all is well for her and she can rest in peace.

Went for another random outing with Qi on tues. She had been traveling, how fortunate for her. Our initial plan was to go to the huge playground at woodlands without really knowing where it is and in the end we failed to find it. After taking the bus from woodlands, we came one round back, haha. It actually costs 12 cents to do that. Decided to go night safari instead.

We were lucky, it was tues day which is Gelare day!! YAY!
Have not eaten that for a long long time, just realized they actually have so many ice cream flavors. This one was simply delicious! Even the kid sitting next to us was giggling so happily. Seldom see such a young kid so happy, they're usually crying, haha.

Night Safari was quite boring, most of the animals looked really down. We entered the place with a boom at first, invited by a happy tribal dance but later it died down when we see all the sad animals.

These are the only 2 happy animals, otters and bats, they are happily playing around. The otters damn cute, they are squeaking so joyfully! Ended that night with ben and jerry! :D

And boss called again to scold me regarding my lateness, it feels like a teacher reprimanding her student. haha I felt quite bad afterwards. I guess I really can't be late for work anymore. The next day she gave us an ice cream treat, she's actually quite a nice person but we kinda took it for granted.

Watched Salt on Saturday and I really enjoyed it. It is yet another cheem movie that set me thinking but I kinda enjoy cheem movies nowadays. Maybe I'm getting old and like to think more now. haha. Jolie was great, she turned into a scary fighting machine all of a sudden in the movie but it was impressive. :)

I love these colorful portraits by Gwen Seemel, Stephen Bennett and Francoise Nielly. Their use of colors and brushstrokes are all so unique in their own way.

These abstract paintings of the sea are amazing too! :)

Sunday feels wasted so today I hope to accomplish more things.

Yellow explosion

Today marks the first day of work after a week's break. It started with an explosion. The bottle of yellow acrylic paint actually exploded when I tried squeezing paint out and I had yellow all over me, even in my mouth. Tasted acrylic for the very first time, what an experience to start the week! Haha, I managed to save my pants, but my shirt will have yellow poker dot design from now on.

And boss found out we're always late! Goodness, I felt rather embarrassed when confronted. I wonder who's the snitch! haha but it's my bad, I guess I should really try to cure my lateness from now on. It had been one of my worst habit since pri sch. I remember I used to be caned every year for multiple lateness back then. :p

I love the new episodes of spongebob squarepants on nick, they never fail to put a smile on my face! Mrs Puff, Squidward and Patrick are so funny! They should appear more often!
